Golden hour is the ideal time for flying dress photography. In the desert especially, sunrise light is extraordinary. The cooler air in the morning also means the dress moves more beautifully and the environment is more comfortable for you. Blue hour, the brief window just after sunset, works particularly well for skyline and city backdrop sessions. We plan every session around the light first.

October through April is the ideal window. Temperatures are comfortable, the light during golden hour is especially warm and golden, and the wind conditions in Dubai during these months are often perfect for getting natural movement in the dress without it being unmanageably gusty. From May through September the heat is extreme, particularly in the desert and on the beach, and standing outdoors in a long gown in summer temperatures is genuinely uncomfortable. If your visit falls in summer, early morning sessions in the hour before sunrise can be managed, but we will always be honest with you about what conditions are likely on your specific date.

This is one of the most common questions and it is a fair one because the images look almost impossible. The effect is achieved through a combination of natural wind, deliberate movement, and precise timing from the photographer. We work in locations where natural breeze is predictable and reliable. We direct you on how to move and position your body to help the dress lift and fill. And the photographer captures multiple frames in quick succession, selecting the moments where the dress is at its most dramatic mid-air. In some sessions an assistant helps throw or lift portions of the dress at the exact right moment. The result of all of this planning and timing is what you see in the final images.

None at all. The majority of our flying dress clients have never done any modelling and very few have had professional photographs taken before. Our job throughout the session is to direct you completely, from where to stand and how to position your body, to when to turn, when to look away from the camera, and how to interact with the dress movement. Many of our clients tell us afterwards that the session felt much more like a fun experience than a formal photoshoot because we keep the energy relaxed and encouraging throughout. You do not need to know how to pose. You just need to show up.
